Junia Desk Mat — Her Story | Romans 16:7

THE LETTERS NEVER CHANGED. THE ACCENT DID.

This Junia Desk Mat turns Romans 16:7 into a museum-inspired study of one of the New Testament’s most fascinating women.

Designed for Bible study, seminary work, ministry offices, and theological study, it explores Junia through Scripture, ancient languages, and the editorial history surrounding her name.

The Story Behind the Design

At the center is Junia, surrounded by Romans 16:7 in English, Greek, Latin, and Syriac.

The design highlights an intriguing feature of the Greek textual tradition: the underlying letters of Junia’s name remained the same, while later accentuation allowed the name to be printed as either the feminine Junia or masculine Junias.

The historical timeline traces that editorial story from early Christian reception through twentieth-century critical editions and the return to the feminine reading in modern scholarship.

Museum-Inspired Artwork

Rich parchment, weathered stone, Roman ruins, and an aged bronze medallion give the mat the appearance of a museum exhibit rather than conventional Christian décor.

It's designed for the person who wants something on her desk that invites a second look—and perhaps a conversation.
